Ministry of Public Health Headquarters

San Salvador, El Salvador

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

A design proposal for the Ministry of Public Health in El Salvador. The idea was to design a building with a radial axis and circular shapes, in order to refresh the image of the institution and to break the monotone pattern of building shapes in the down town of San Salvador.

The use of glass in the facades invites to the transparency of the tasks developed inside of this government agency, and the central cylinder is opened in the main façade as a sign of approachability and to welcome the public.

In the parking lot a roof made of solar panels seems to embrace the building following the design rhythm and serving to an energetic purpose.
